I am sure there are long, convoluted methods of getting wineskins to play Thief, but even so:
Please (

It is the only way my life will be complete.

you are barking up the wrong tree - GOG has no way of creating a native linux/mac version.

NewDark works on Linux more or less out of the box with recent versions of Wine. I'm not familiar with the current state of the OS X Wine ports, but Thief shouldn't be any more trouble to set up than any other game.

there were issues with fog recently, if I remember correctly.

Yes, I'm still on Wine 1.4 because of it. Per Albert's testing, any Wine version after 1.5.12 seems to have no fog at all. (Actually, I found that there is a tiny amount of fog, barely visible and not transitioning smoothly...not very useful in any case.) I haven't tested any of the more recent 1.7 series versions yet. For an obscure graphics problem like that, it seems like even odds that OS X would even be affected. Nonetheless, if GOG want to fix that bug, it would be great!

Why would anyone who cares about gaming even own a Mac?
Anyone sane, I mean.

This is not possible.

This is pretty much like petitioning for Marathon to be released for the PC.
Un-possible.

discussing what is possible or not is completely pointless - we have no idea what kind of plans the Raven has, and what he is capable of.
