The problem with it being flash based though is that the controls can be unresponsive - in that you press the button and nothing happens. This may be more likely to occur in browser though, with multiple tabs and therefore lots of flash content likely running, but i do think it may have even happened when i downloaded the standalone demo once.
Such frailties in the flash player such as dropping input occasionally would no doubt become rather frustrating in a game where precise control no doubt becomes a necessity (ok, the demo isn't so hard but you can see it starts to increase quite a bit towards the end).
There's also the annoyance of when you let go of the movement button or try to tap a key for a small adjustment, it doesn't really respond to these subtleties but instead moves the character an arbitrary large amount.

I'd recommend grabbing the downloadable demo. Unless you're on dial-up, it's a pretty small download, and would be more representative of the full version.
Not that I tried the browser version, mind you, but playing timing-sensitive games in a web browser just sounds like a bad idea -- unless you're running a separate minimal browser instance dedicated to the game (which would seem to negate some of the benefits of the web platform, but does still avoid a local installation in most cases, so may still be preferable in some cases).

w00t! I got the final trinket :)
You're right, you do get into a rhythm after a while; and once I had that, then if I didn't screw up right away in 'Veni', chances were pretty decent that I'd make it to the half-way point; and once I was doing
that regularly, it didn't take too long to make it back again.
Definitely worth doing.
I also see that the game contains a "no death mode", and space for an enormous trophy. I absolutely do not want that trophy.
Well my comment yesterday was going to be "Man this brings me back to my beloved C64 days". Nice to see they didn't stop there.

Dethy is posting a cryptic puzzle for us! I'm guessing the laughing guys signify disapproval but I'm totally lost as to what the donuts and salad dressing mean. (or do I need to have played the game to get it?)

I think (hope!) he's expressing pleasure instead :). In any case the album was an instant purchase for me as I love the original music. If you want to get the mod to allow you to use the music in-game make sure you get it from SoulEye's webpage and not from bandcamp.
