Has anyone converted the asylum wall textures used in deadly shadows so they can be used in Dromed???, I really need some of those "run down, decayed" looking types that they used.

It's illegal to convert things from other games, but there are lots of free textures around. E.g. (
http://www.textures.com/browse/bare/23506?seamless=1)
You can get some nice textures from these by experimenting with brightness and contrast.

...for profit. If it's just a texture here and there, nobody cares.

I'm pretty sure profit doesn't come in to it, but you're right about no one caring when only one or two are used. However it's worth pointing out the legalities every now and then in case someone gets funny ideas and uploads a whole pack.

There is the Deadly Shadows Editor that Eidos freely released...does that mean that I can use those textures as long as it is encompassed within a freely distributed Thief fan mission??

Technically, no, the textures are still their intellectual property. But as the others said, if it's just a few of them in a FM, no one will care, but if you were to package up and release them all as a texture pack for use in the Dark engine, that would be much more likely to be a problem.

Ahh...so a few spread around my mission without an arrow with flashing lights advertising the fact would be acceptable.:cheeky:

I've just remembered something. According to people on youtube you can just write "No copyright infringement intended" and then you can share whatever you want.
LarryG on 29/2/2016 at 17:02
Unfortunately that phrase is "... about as useful as a tank top in winter." See (

In addition, it is against the (
