Well, technically YOU didn't create it either, unless cutting out concept and promo art and pasting it together again counts as creation these days.
Couple things you could do to make this a really good wallpaper:
a) smooth out those rough cut edges
b) don't plaster your name all over it like that... if you absolutely must put your name on it (though that's really tacky), make it small and faint and way out of the way
The only other thing is that 800x600 is a pretty small wallpaper these days. I don't use wallpaper, so I don't care at all (plus that would look really out of place on a 1920x1600 desktop), but I think most people run at least 1024x768.

They definately look like cardboard cut-outs and the background is pretty dull. :p
Are those pictures of Garrett yours Sir? If not, i don't think the artist will be pleased with you taffing them, pasting them into a collage and calling it your own work.

Aside from the other comments, I do like the background.

Well, for me the balance of the picture doesn't strike home. Perhaps you could shrink the kneeling Garrett a bit towards the left corner, so that the eye doesn't have to jump left and right on equally dominating points of interest.
And these days it's a hip thing to add a meaning to the picture. Perhaps you could find some fun combinations from the other pictures available?
Other than that, can't help you much.
