A well made game is a well made made game, regardless of plot or setting. Warren Spector has a better grasp of what makes a game fun than anyone else I've ever heard of.
With that said, I really hate the whole idea and aesthetic of Kingdom Hearts, I hope they don't go down that route.

If I recall correctly, Spector was serving as figure head and director (i.e management) of the studio during the time of Deus Ex: IW and Thief: DS. He also said that some of the design ideas for Deus Ex: IW really confused him, but that he trusted Harvey Smith enough from his great input into the original Deus Ex to let him do what he wanted. As for Thief: DS, I think most of us remember that Randy Smith left the project shortly before completion due to the a "creative disagreement" about the state of the game.

Harvey was the Lead Designer on Deus Ex, and Warren has said in at least one interview that he never really 'got' Thief in the very brief time he was associated with The Dark Project, so him forcing his ideas on DX2 and T3 would have been a poor move in most people's books.

Too bad DX has some really bad map design.

At least they weren't divided into studio apartment-sized chunks, separated by load times that are still slow even on modern computers.
