Talking about the undead; I'm going through The Haunted Cathedral these days, it's my first runthrough of the game, and there is this one guy walking around the ruins that makes noises that remind me of Shodan from SS2. It scares the shit out of me. The zombies were scary enough ya know. . .

That's pretty much what happened with me as well. After that every time I heard one coming, I desperately looked for a way around it. As for the Bonehoard, I went through that mission with every nerve on edge.:p
Strangely enough I didn't find Bonehoard all that scary. It probably had to do with the lightning and the fact that most of the time you had a lot of space to run around the zombies. And of course once you made your way to the upper levels there were practically no zombies around.
Well, except for...
...the Mystic's Soul. Or was it Heart? That freaked me out as I could hear the walking corpses grunting all the time and knew they would come out of their tombs as soon as I did something stupid. And of course the objective
forced me to do something stupid.
xDDDD
Fun to hear your stories :P
Well when I first played Cargsleft I just thought "WTF is that?", better not walk on it, so I just ran all the way to the holy water. hmm, same thought xD
Weel, I accedently walked on a Zombie, and OMG I donno. Got a heart attack or something xDD And I thought NEVER MORE. Well, 3 days later I palyed it again and RAN through the mines, without knowing where to go. Luckly enought i ended up at the factory.
Well, remember when I played Down in the bonehoard. I had 2 friends with me, and we shared the cpu since all of us where kinda amatuer-wannabes xD
After like 3 hours we finaly reached the tombs... .____.'
And there we got some real chock O____O
We went into a hallway, with almost no holy water left (we killed every Zombie we met). No good idea, we tried to take the goblet in the first room, where it is like 5 zombies on the floor. All wake up, so we ran out in the hallways again, where we met even more zombies. I DONNO BU WE SCREAMED SO LOUD. >____< And just ran, ran and ran. We managed to escape thos damn Zombies but we reached that holy instead. The hole said something. We was really scared xD We shot a rope arrow inte the celing, but noone of us wanted to go down.... Cowards that we are.
xD So thought like 2screw this" and went back running from zombie. After 30mins of running we just ended up at the Quintus-tomb... we were SO HAPPY xDDDDDDD
RTDC: .___.' I really hate that level, I really do. Took us 3hours to finish it.. xD OMG i hate the háunts. I still do, I ahte FMs with tombs. >__< Even tho I played All the thiefs game 3 times. xD

I remember the first time I played Bonehoard and instead of getting through the exit at the end I walked aaaall the way back to the beginning and went out that way. It worked too... but maybe not the best way. :cheeky:
Still think that Bonehoard is one of the best, if not THE best, level I've played, ever, in any game!
btw I don't know if I've posted here before so: Hello!

Hello!
Down in the Bonehoard is one of my all time favorites as well. If you like undead/crypt robbing missions there are many great FMs with those themes you could take a look at (unless you already have, of course). Actually I recall a very large tomb exploration fan mission quite similar to Bonehoard in style. I can't remember the name though... anyone have the slightest idea what I might be thinking about?
Now I haven't tried all the FMs out there (I'm working on it), but some excellent undead missions that come to mind at first include such as "From Beneath the Sands" by Nicked and "Dancing with the Dead" by Yandros. Oh and The Inverted Manse by Sledge. That has to be one of the scariest missions I've ever played.

I could not play Thief I.
I played the first mission, enjoyed it, started the second, got up to the zombie, screamed, flailed around a bit, closed the pgram, went downstairs to have a drink, and then calmly installed Thief II. One minor hiccup in the graveyard in the following mission but I got past that. Never looked back.

Sadly Thief/Thief II don't work for me anymore. I have a nVidia card. I tried some fixes but nothing really worked so I'm left in limbo hoping. I am REALLY impressed by what I've seen done by Volca so far and hope that he/she will come through. But still; EIDOS, source please? Oh, well...:(
Sorry for off topic...

Heh, my stupid moment actually came in T2X, when I considered myself to be a veteran in zombie warfare (or at least evasion). The haunted house... well, I walked in, saw the corpse, and immediately went very still :P. I explored, was walking backwards through a doorway, and suddenly noticed I was standing on its face! I panicked, jumped a foot off my chair, and was halfway across the room before I realised it wasn't moving. Then there was a little moment when I dusted myself off, fixed my hair and tried not to look silly...
[Sorry - does that count as a spoiler?]

I have to say, I found Shalebridge Cradle in T3 to be exceedingly scary. (It did not help that I was playing it well past midnight). I kept edging around the puppets after I'd downed them, mortally terrified that they were going to jump up and get me again. The flickering lights whenever a Puppet was near was a particularly horrifying touch. The only other mission I've played that creeped me out THAT badly was the haunted hotel run in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
ANd that damn ghost girl. She kept popping in with commentary as I was edging around trying not to get spotted by the super zombies. Every time she did, I jumped sideways...
And yeah, I *loathed* the zombies in the original Thief. I don't think I've ever managed to play all the way through the Haunted Cathedral mission because they scared me so badly...

I can feel your pain, I have the same problem, cant play T1 or T2 and always watching people in forums talking about how great fanmissions are. I wish I wouldnt have a NVidia card so I can play my favorite game again. :(
