The player is not in a hurry but not too slow at the same time. I myself dislike speedruns too.

They should have made the game so you have to explore most of the levels to complete the objectives, just in case players like Khad come along...

Most "modern gamers" don't even bother checking the controls. They'll just play with whatever the game throws at them, console-style.
Also, I had no idea Khad started Thief 2! Oh my!

Well I enjoyed that. I do like how Khad's trying to accommodate everyone's wish list! But I think his English accent needs a little work. :)
A Dark Mod mission will be interesting I think.
