Downwinders part one is available, and it's the worst so far - thanks to you guys! (Well, you and your counterparts at SA.)
Because of you it's pretty much "I don't care about anything anymore because I quicksave every two seconds, and this particular mission is crap anyway."
YOU SUCK!
:p

Dont know. I found this the most entertaining one so far.
I especially liked how he throws stuff at the metal door and the guard next room is like "gah...".
Or how hes "hiding" bodies in the street only to have the city watch come around the corner "whats all this?" a moment later.
And how hes placing the mine in the doorway only to have it slide across the room and the unarmed guy rushing through thereafter, anyway.

Seems like he's going through his supplies even more quickly than usual---and he's barely into the mission. I have to say he's much better at sword fighting than I was way back when. Bit surprised that it didn't dawn on him to use a rope arrow to climb down into the gambling den.

-Equips a rope arrow. "That's an arrow. Not even close to what I want.":D

I have to agree. Hell, he's much better at it than I was when I saw him do it. It just never occured to me to try to run in circles around the enemy, without that exploit I found the swordsmen nigh on impossible to beat and just accepted death every time I was discovered. Hammerites are the only exception, I can take them on 3:1 (you hop back and forth, causing them to strike but miss, then quickly hop in again land an overhead).

Wow....that was painful to watch:tsktsk:
A couple of tips Khad:
- The moss arrows only stun guards in T3
- The way you were supposed to go down the "elevator" was to go upstairs, shoot a rope arrow into the wooden ceiling above it and climb down the rope
And I really think your "kill everyone who's armed" technique is completely misguided:(
In any case, good luck. This level is brutal in more ways than one.

To straighten out what one of the goons said: Broadhead + unalerted enemy is not a guaranteed one shoot kill. Fully pulled bow(and no you don't need to wait for it to zoom in, just for the sound and animation of pulling to end) deals 3-6 damage in Thief. Stealth bonus is a x5 damage multiplier so that's 15-30; some enemies have more than 15HP(most notably Hammerite Guards - 20HP).

Well, this mission
is crap anyway.
Besides, if he's still doing the moss arrow on guard stupidity, then you shouldn't blame us for anything he does, since he apparently ignores any advice given in this thread anyway. That's then the overwhelmingly intelligent and correct and helpful advice given to him at SA. :)
Hmm... watching him murder everyone is indeed the stress relief that I hoped for. A tad bit wasteful on those first couple of them though, I hope he can kill the rest of them as well.
(Oh, I forgot. '[...] the overwhelmingly "intelligent" ;) and "correct" ;) and "helpful" ;) "advice" ;) given to him at SA.'
Obvious enough this time?)
Oh, hey Khad:
13:41 - nice thinking, but lacking a certain detail. Change the keybinding for "lean forward" to something that you can press in these circumstances.
17:40 - f4 and f5. Also check your keybinding for "put item away" or "select compass" to avoid that hassle with the lockpicks.
18:16 - that's what we call a "wooden ceiling" in pro terminology. :p
18:50 - and that's what I'd call a "you just found a rope arrow in a chest and there's a wooden ceiling" in even proer terminology.
23:40fff - hrm, and that's what I am absolutely not looking forward in this episode. :/ Running around in circles, all confused.
24:43 - okay, just use your sword on
wooden doors next time if you want to do it that way.
28:30 - yeah, he's dead already. You shot him down to 1 hitpoint, and then the blackjack killed him.
33:15 - okay, realize it already: SAtards don't give good advice for these games.
33:40 - you know, I am reasonably sure that they were somewhat alerted before (though I am watching your video without any sound rightnow, since I'm not at home). You know, when you did throw stuff at metal doors and when you killed their buddy next door. After an AI was once alerted, he won't go all the way back to zero again, and thus he's harder to kill with dealing critical hits with your arrows. It's even worse in Thief 2, actually.
34:23 - reminds me of my adventures in the next mission, back then before I realized that stealth is the better choice of gameplay in these games. I fucked up just like you there. :p
35:15 - at the rate you're burning up your equipment, I'm afraid that I won't get to see how you kill the rest of those 60ish guards in that mission. Me sad. :(
36:18 - erm, if you keep shooting water arrows at every random torch you come across... uh, you did realize that the map is covering like 4 pages and that the Overlord's Fancy is just a tiny, teeny little wee part of the entire crappy mission? Ouchies.

Khad, all you need to do is pick him up. If it says "unconscious body" he's alive, if it says "corpse" then he's dead. It's that simple.
Thor on 2/7/2010 at 12:03
I loved your somewhat creative solution on how to get down the casino. Saw it in a speedrun, eh? ;) That's nice.
What I want you to know though is - don't give up on the kill everybody objective! When you can't hit an unconscious guard anymore, pick him up and read the sign on the bottom of the screen - if it says corpse, it's a good-to-go. So far Ithink you've killed every armed guy, except the 2 goons in the other part of the casino you didn't even touch. Please kill them. ;)
