It's nice of you to give out tips, although its funnier if Khad remains ignorant and unspoiled. I linked your Thief LP to a goon friend of mine without watching it. He can't stand [strike]Khad's[/strike] the blind run style, and I figured that an expert's video would be more to his liking. Unfortunately, he passed on to me that after a while, he found your videos to be unwatchable. Goons in general look down on you-tube LPs because they just keep going until they feel like stopping, and then get chopped down into 10 minute chunks, sometimes midsentence. And the watcher has no idea when a good stopping point is- will it end with this 10 minute chunk, or stop in the middl-
He also thinks that the pacing could be improved. Since a stealth game will have some degree of waiting around anyway, you might as well explain what you're going to do in this mission while walking or waiting, instead of having dead air or unrelated chitchat while actually playing the game. That could be partly frapps's fault, in which case you could go to the extra effort to insert screenshots of the objectives into the video after the fact, like Khad does.
My opinion is that it could be better as an informative LP, since it definitely isn't a funny one. Although you've gotten better about putting the text of notes on screen instead of just summarizing it, it just gets distracting when you summarize and have the note on screen at the same time. Having videos for exploration is definitely a step in the right direction, but breezing past guard conversations and odd corners and whatnot is just what every other speedrun and walkthrough will do. I linked him your videos to show him what's awesome about thief- which includes the immersion and the world-building, and ignoring the little details that you would notice on your first play-through doesn't really help with that.

She makes great videos. Only a Thief player could understand such a great play-through. Or anybody which possesses more attention span than a fruit fly.

Hi Pester,
nice advice, though a bit ill-placed, since this thread is about Khad's Let's Fail thing.
I find it more than a bit awkward though that you have several opinions even though you say twice that you didn't watch it at all, so I'll just take it with a few grains of salt. :)

I fail to see how a video where you get spotted by the very first guard you encounter qualifies as great. I don't get the no damage dealt approach either; it's not very challenging and it's not very impressive looking.
And the 10 minute limit
does suck for LPs.

Absolutely, Koki. Next time, I'll rehearse the missions a dozen times to get ready for every eventuality like a guard that stopped just a little bit too early. :)
Or was this about the semi-blind LP T2? Absolutely right then, blind LPs must be perfectly done as well! :D

I didn't say that I didn't watch it all- I just linked it as soon as I found it, and watched the begnning and then the occasionally look at recent bits or particularly Khad-failed bits later on when I felt like watching a Thief documentary instead of funny animal videos. I wouldn't know that you'd stopped that "This note has some really funny quotes from the designers, that you can't see and I won't read. Moving on." malarkey otherwise

I would like to insist on a live voice commentary though. That makes it harder to mask edits ;) and you'll see the extra difficulty achieved by putting half your brain capacity into speaking while playing. Bonus points for commenting in something that isn't your native language.
