You're too hesitant Khad, you need to go forward more.
Whoa - he doesn't even know enemies can hear your footsteps in this game. Being careful is definitely the way to go.

6/3 is here.
"Holy shit !!! I love speed potion..." :cheeky:
"This is Thief, serial killer edition..."
Koki on 10/7/2010 at 14:28
How useful are speed potions really? When you move faster you also make more noise, right? Wouldn't that make them useless considering you can outrun everything in the game?
And can you kill yourself by running into a wall like in SS2?

It's good for climbing up steeper inclines that walking and running aren't fast enough for, and making long jumps. Good for exploring odd places, or taking odd routes, but never important for any mission.

Yep. You need to bunnyjump though a bit to get the right momentum.
Where's the first episode of your Let's Ghost? :(

I was being facetious. Note the smiley.
Though after giving it some thought(and checking whether I can actually handle speaking english) I might as well give it a try once I settle down. You can never have enough Thief LPs, rite?

Khad don't read this lol. Everyone else though, please do.

Are you being deliberately misleading? Because leaning forward and blackjacking alerted guards from the front is the biggest exploit in the game and makes levels without the undead 100% cookie-cutter. Especially if you combine it with jumping in place to make noise, which you did mention however.
I feel we should not teach Khad this exploit unless he starts to feel that the game's difficulty is becoming boring. I think it is much more interesting if we leave it to him to figure out. Good job if you are deliberately trying to mislead him. I am posting this though because I thought someone might not realise your trick and spoil it by arguing back.
Ironically, if it were the case that Khad didn't even know enemies can hear your footsteps, which I don't think it is, I think it would think for him rather than against him. I remember when I first started, I felt like the most helpless creature in existence. I thought that on anything but the most silent surfaces, the guards would hear me if I ran up to them from behind, and it never even occured to me to try until I saw some speedrun. Furthermore, it never occured to me that I could blackjack people from the front, let alone if they were alerted. That way, the game was insanely hard on any difficulty. Khad is already doing much better than that, I want him to experience PAIN the way I did XD
So, yeah. I beg everyone to not teach Khad to jump in place, wait for the enemy to approach, lean forward and blackjack them in the face. Too much of an exploit.

@Vantek
I would not worry too much. As of yet he does not even know HOW to lean forward!:cheeky:
Koki on 10/7/2010 at 17:34
I didn't know about that exploit, but I'm pretty sure you can't lean and attack simultaneously in TDP; the lean will cancel as you swing. Unless they changed that in Gold, lean attacks should be T2 exclusive.
