While we wait for the next videos, a quick question: apart from the most irritating mission in the series, is Thief Gold much superior to Dark Project? I ask because I wonder whether I'm missing out on something beautiful...

Yeah, you can't complete RTC in under 2 minutes anymore. That's pretty serious improvement, methinks.

There are quite a few people in this thread who need to relax and not get all high an mighty about the 'right' and 'wrong' way to play these games.

The other missions aren't much better. All in all it does much more harm than good.

TDP is IMHO much superiour to TG. With the exception of the Song of the Caverns mission, which I like very much.
TG messed up the Bonehoard. From dark, spooky and creepy, it got turned into something brightly lit with shiny textures.
The addition in The Sword, even though it's fun to jump around in there, is an immersion breaker.
What was done to the Lost City is also not in favour of the mission. Instead of Craymen, you got human enemies: Mages. I liked the Craymen and their specific "language"; there were already more than enough human missions.
Mages Tower is a long and artificially extended key hunt mission. I don't mean the 30+ keys that you can pickpocket. I mean the fact that you first need to hunt down the key in tower #1 to be able to access tower #2, where you'll find another key that's necessary to enter tower #3, where you'll find another key that's necessary to enter tower #4. Yeah, they look differently, but they're all the same keyhunting theme as the other towers. Same motive, different wall textures.
Thieves Guild is the bottom of the trash pile.
Also, instead of just 2 useless and pointless filler missions - you can already enter the Cathedral (in theory) in THC and you don't need the talismans at all - you now got 4 of these filler missions.
Well, but Song of the Caverns is quite good. The mission doesn't make a lot of sense: the basement activities look like it's afternoon and they're doing some gymn stuff; the audience area is full with audience, waiting for a show - this makes no sense if it's afternoon and the singers and dancers are doing some warming up stuff; the stage area is patrolled by guards, which makes no sense if it's show time, as the audience indicates. And there are more people doing other random stuff all over the place as well. But it is an entertaining and most of all, visually pleasing mission.

Good to know I'm not missing out on some masterpiece mission. Once I was curious what the special area in the sword was that I read on forums, watched it on youtube and frankly, I found it completely out of place. Didn't know about the other missions, though
I think I'll stick to my double pack and not bother with TG

I can't wait till Khad makes his way to Earth/Air Tower and will comment on the design and amount of detail.

Those places are dire. Come to think of it, Thieves Guild is ten times the mission Towers is. :p

I can only speak for myself, but I don't think the way he's playing it is the real issue. It's his dismissal of his own inadequacies, the way he blames the game for his every mistake that gets tiresome. Look at all the times he complains about his blackjack not working. He's on the fifth level of the game, you'd think he'd have figured out by now that it is best used from behind. But rather the vast majority of his attempts to KO are him leaping out of the shadows from the front. He can KO all he wants, I usually KO all the baddies on the stage on my first play through. But the game doesn't automatically suck because he can't figure out how to correct his techniques.
He doesn't adapt to correct his mistakes, he just blames the game and the developers. If the game isn't designed precisely to fit his exact play-style, then he claims it's a bad game and the designers suck.
