There's something I don't understand. How can Khad spend only about half an hour on Thief? I can spend hours!!
He said his hard drive starts to run out of space after recording about 30 - 40 minutes of video.

It's like a young buck saying Citizen Kane, or The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly are bad movies because they have a lot of long and fairly silent scenes.
There actually are young bucks that say that, but it didn't kill the movies, nor did it physically injure the people that like them. If anything, I think it's making others point their attention towards them and actually try and understand what's going on and why those certain people didn't like them. It's the same with a really old game and I bet a lot of people that watched his LP tried the game just so they could get a glimpse of what it actually is. Had they watched a walkthrough of it, they probably would have been bored to tears, but with someone making circus tricks it's much more interesting to watch.

It does prevent more from being made though(since they wouldn't sell so who cares) and that's the point.

Really wierd videos -> some of the fumbling, dying and especially swearing is fun to watch but -at the same time- the whole cluelessness is really painful at times - really, fast forward can be an answer. "I honestly don't know" - but somehow he doesn't even improve all that much with (play)time under his belt. Why not normal difficulty? And why even play if it is as unfun and awkward as it seems? Some other things which puzzle me >> why and how??
- Constantly wasting resources as soon as possible for no good reason
- Trying _hard_ to be _seen_ and ?kill? everybody/thing you can
- No sense of direction or memory problems > unable to remember what happened like a minute or two ago > where one was, doing what
- Does not understand story or is somehow detached from gameworld
- Constantly relearning game mechanics, interface and keyboard shortcuts -> somehow I always thought Thief was very straightforward, intuitive and simplistic even in its gameplay represention - but what do I know
- Quicksaving is a pro strategy?? Well - just playing better and being aware of surroundings is a even more pro idea
Well I guess to his credit it is true the game is ugly by todays standards and there are some bugs (ladders, unable to swing sword when in knee deep water, mantling, shoddy level design in some places etc.) but I doubt that the whole game/level design is as bad as he seems to think at times.
I really hope that he is not representive of large crowd of gamers with ADHD or "something" - somehow it is a horrifying thought -> unless he is acting it all, making a spectacle and pulling our collective legs under our noses. But overall some of it is fun to watch (Bonehoard was a laughing riot). Wouldn't mind if someone else with bit more common sense, attention span, interest in the subject matter and story + raw skill would start from scratch to record similar videos - it would be quite different experience. Well - don't take it too hard - it's just a game - carry on.

I just found this yesterday and started watching the videos and did it give me a good laugh.
My favourites were when he said whats this a magical dildo and thriler crew, the button thing (I also did it my first playthrough) and misunderstanding many problems he can't solve (like picking up a rope arrow and not using it to climb down or in the pit) for designers fault (actually I have to admit I was pretty pissed off when he couldn't get out of the pit and blaming the devs).
That really got me out of this dromed bornout, depression or whatever its called and tomorrow I may try it again. I am also awaiting anxiously for the next episode and why didn't anyone mention the Soulforge Cathedral that was a bit frustrating on my first playthrough, oh well I guess no one found the level really that hard.

You guys keeping track of the SA thread by chance? Somebody spliced up some choice Khad moments and made a sound mod. There's a demonstration video in the OP.

Yeah, tried that. Funny stuff, tho I missed on doing lots of stuff. Watching the (
http://www.viddler.com/explore/ScandalousSA/videos/45/) video was funnier.
Also, he's still messing with redoing his PC stuff, but looks like he's almost done with that, so maybe he'll finally have an update before the end of the week.

"There's a f***ing archer right there! I don't have any mother-f***ing, f***ing f***-f***'s!"
I lol'd mah ass off. I think I'll start calling arrows MFFFF's.

I literally can't believe how dumb Khad is when he's playing Bonehoard. :cheeky: He had the rope arrow equipped and opened a treasure chest that had a rope arrow in it, and spent the next few minutes wondering why the chest seemed to have nothing in it. He also tried to ally with the burricks using the Horn.
And I love it how he complains about how the "developers are taffn' you in the arsehole by having you run out of fire arrows" before he has even met the fire shadow that's there to ensure that it never happens. :cheeky:

That was actually not a bad idea, since one of the thieves' journals even states they are pacified by it. Too bad using it was not supported by the game.
