Ok, Khad. I see you haven't figured this out yet, so here it is: in Thief 1 you can bunnyhop and go extremely fast, as fast as with a speed potion (just be careful not to run into a wall at that speed because you might die).

AFAIK it was fixed in the first patch for TDP and TG has this fix as well, so no lightning Garrett anymore.
