I just read up on it. I'm not too fond of this whole idea of single player games requiring net connection. Diablo 3 is pretty recent and features the same problem, so I'd say the past is definitely relevant.

Oh I'm not surprised. I get how they wanted to preserve the whole "no, you see, you're playing a guy who is playing the game you are playing" angle with every bit up to after the exit the animus, so while it is annoying, I can forgive that to an extent, but loading the menu again so you can sign in to your profile in order to exit the game can definitely book a table for one at a restaurant serving only dicks.
