I'm a bit with Briareos and Muzman on this - it looks absolutely stunningly beautiful, i just want to walk down the streets of that city and soak it in. But gameplay-wise... I'm not so much worried about "press x to win" or quickhacking, but I kind of got the vibe the whole experience may be very tunneled/scripted. Even with the "open world" it almost seems like each turn, each activated item or camera, is part of the setpiece deliberately engineered by developers. I donno, I guess I am jaded as well with so many triple-AAA games feeling like a really elaborate rollercoaster ride these days (i.e. cod/moh/bf)

I got the impression from the intro to the E3 demo that all the hacking has essentially been done already and the magic phone is already tied into all of the infrastructure in the world, which is why it's just 'push button to activate.' The gameplay is about how you use that access to achieve your goals.
And this video makes me think the security company that owns the CCTV cameras is going to be the antagonist.
I also really hope that the parkour mechanics are more third-person Mirror's Edge than Assassin's Creed.

Pretty much this. I don't want to be this jaded but the more I see of this game, the less interested I am in it.

Yeah, but hopefully there's some cost involved is all (presumably there will be). Doing that sort of thing should attract quite a bit of attention, depending on what you're doing, so maybe that's it (I don't mean the cops show up either. More that your thingy stops working altogether or something)
Presumably there some mechanic where you've not only got to avoid attracting too much attention from people, but also from "the network" itself. A little dose of hacker Hitman might be cool.
It'll be interesting to see how it works. As mentioned, if it's too scripted and set piece driven it might go wrong. Equally, if it's too sandboxy and you can just do whatever all the time and just end up being chased by the police until a timer runs out etc, that would seem too dated and thin for this premise (plenty of people don't seem to mind that sort of thing though). So, hopefully...something else.

There are a couple of limiting factors visible in the video. The battery icon drains when he deploys the roadblocks, and it also seems to take a couple of seconds to activate them (indicated by the rising tone). I'd bet money on there being an upgrade path for the various access abilities (and likely for more general stuff like how much information you get when in the facial recognition mode and battery recharge rate), and it looks like there are two abilities that aren't available yet.

Sure I am jaded. Especially when I see a lot of potential which I fear will end up riddled with oversimplified game mechanics and content. The first trailer was exciting, this... not so much. Actions shown in the new trailer seem inconsequential and linear (seek a crime, be a one-time vigilante, escape using hacking), I hope this is not the core of the game.
After watching the video, I actually agree with him somewhat. It looks considerably less compelling than L.A. Noire was.

Yeah, without a doubt. Also worth noting is that in the E3 video from last summer the player is seen using the hacks while driving. That ought to put a whole new spin on chase scenes if you can raise obstacles and change trafficlights to stop your pursuer/target.

New gameplay footage, apparently. PS4 build with "next gen features", still a scale down from the PC version (lead platform), I bet.

Quarter of an hour of gameplay footage. And there's a bit on the multiplayer interactions at the end of it, it all looks very interesting. Aside from that hideous trenchcoat and baseball cap combo, though I suppose that if you wanna blend into a crowd looking like a douchebag is a good call. Props for authenticity?
