Thanx for this excellent & enjoyable smaller mission, TheNightTerror. Great detail, pretty intense gameplay (on Hard) & we got to do some nice things for a change! :D
Some rather interesting books scattered about...
Two things that would have been nice ;
if the niece could have held onto Dewdrop & if we could have carried her through the gate -- but these are very minor points.
Again, thanx, & I hope you're planning more......please......

:erg:
I will try again later.

:D Thank you Sticky Fingers! About those two points you mentioned, one of them actually sounds like a bug. I set it up so there are two Annies; the one you find sitting, and another that you 'receive' when you frob her. Both of them should have the doll attached to her hand, so if it wasn't there, something broke. Were you playing the updated 1.3 version?
I'm working on two missions with two other authors, but don't expect to see anything with my name attached to it soon. I'm in the middle of moving from the house I grew up in, (the one in A Shopping Stopover) and I have to pack most of it myself. My parents bought it in '81, so you can imagine the amount of stuff that's piled up. My mom went and bought a new kitten on Tuesday, so if I'm not packing, I'm playing with her. I'd imagine I wouldn't be settled enough to DromEd until mid December, at least.

Yeah, using v1.3 -- like I said, no biggie -- thought something might have gone amiss, since Gloria hadn't attacked you over it :cheeky:
BTW, am currently living in (deceased) parent's house, so I know what you're facing -- & I've got 2 big sheds as well!

Very enjoyable and inventive mission TNT. :thumb: Just managed to semi-ghost it without alerting or harming anyone  but it was tough. Even getting inside from the start is hard as I found no permanent places to hide outside. Occasionally the light gem did not agree with the appearance even in the same shadow so watch out!
Quite a story packed in a small area. Finished on easy without even going upstairs so quickloaded and went back to see anyway. Maybe you have to go upstairs on Expert. Nice skyline from the balcony and I love the dramatic atmosphere of thunder, lightning, and rain.
Only found 2 secrets but couldn't open the locked box in basement (later found bunch of keys but forgot about box.) Works well. I only noticed a couple of oddities, an objective (find 3 women and help them escape) disappeared immediately at the start without my doing anything. Later I had finished all objectives except to leave but it wouldn't let me (I think because another objective had not yet appeared.)
Anyway, it all worked out in the end and I can cut another notch in my blackjack. :cheeky:

Thank you for the compliments! :thumb: And even better, thank you for the bug report! This was on the newest, post contest release, right? I'm going to sort out what's happening and get a new release out as fast as possible, I think the reason you couldn't complete was because when I scripted everything, I made it so you have to complete all the main goals, including the one that disappeared, before you can leave. You might not have read the letter at the front gate, which completes the goal, which in turn meant that my RequireAllTrap never received all the proper signals, and you were stuck with the dud lockbox by the gate.
If you still have saves handy, would you mind popping into the mission and seeing if reading the letter allows you to leave? It'll really help me track down where things are going wrong, my memory's so bad that I can barely remember the network of scripting that kept this baby running. :o

TNT: I just had a quick look and I have two name saves and a quick save. The quick save is almost certainly close to the end; the others I'll check out tomorrow as I'm just about to get some sleep here in the UK. I'll also have a quick cosh through to see if I can remember what happened more clearly. It all worked in the end remember so it definitely wasn't fatal - just looked a bit puzzling.

TNT: I replayed this from the start via Dromed with guards disabled for quickness and this is what I found....
This is all to do with the find the 3 women objective disappearing at startup. It's there before you start the mission but instantly on entry it disappears. This means that the only remaining objectives on easy are check the body and exit. When you go to the gate and read the letter it checks off the first objective but produces a new one: to make sure you don't get crushed too. If you then go to the secret switch and disable the gate security then that objective is checked off OK and the only remaining one is to leave via the gate (which you cannot.) I didn't go further but as I recall the 'find the 3 women' objective pops up again later. Because the intro start up story says you need to find the 3 women then it seems to me that objective should be there at the start and remain? That alone should cure everything I think. I see nothing at the start point to make it disappear so my guess is you have some trigger elsewhere at start up that makes it invisible.
Just so everybody knows, I haven't vanished off the face of the earth, I've been sorting out this bug, and another that cropped up. Not exactly easy to do when you're half asleep all the time! :o I should hopefully have it ready within a couple days, maybe sooner, if this last version gets a clean bill of health. :)
