As has already been said, go back to the mirror room.

Good one, liked the puzzles (although the orienting the masks correctly was a bit frustrating, given the framerate was something like 2-3 fps for me in that area). Unfortunately, I can't finish it due to a bug - looks like every time one of the water elementals is about to make a particular sound, the game crashes. Anyone experienced this or is it just something with my comp?

   Im not whasting any more time on this one. Cant stand the way you always get teleported back and fourth through ...no matter what I do I keep ending up someware I have already been. Thanks for the effort but puzzle missions with no clues arnt my thing. I just dont have the patience. I need to feel like I am getting someware in a reasonable ammount of time and I have been playing for 2 hours and only have 4 masks and keep going in a loop. Blaaaa ??

The trick is to just keep your compass up and keep a close eye on it. You'll see it do a flip when you've been teleported so you know you have to turn around and walk back the other way. I thought it was a very cool effect, once I figured out what was going on. :)

Also, if you keep your eyes open, you can sense a slight change in the textures when passing the "turn-around spots" so you don't even need the compass.

It never teleports you to a different area,
it only flips you 180 degrees...
You can really 'feel' it. It's a slight twitch in gameplay.
Once that happens just turn around and you'll be going the right way.
I thought it enhanced game play 100% once I figured it out.

It sounds like a great mission, unfortunately the chronic crashing is incredibly annoying. I've saved several times, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

The only thing I could do to prevent crashes was not die.

This mission is certainly worth persevering with despite a couple of small glitches. I'm not sure about being able to destroy the
fire elementals
with your sword though?
