Has anyone here played Journeyman Project 3: The Legacy of Time?
One of the greatest games I ever played.
This mission is making me think about it for some reason; probably because I'm a sucker for ancient civilations.
Anyway, godly mission.

Odd! I never got any crashes when reloading.
Huh. It comes and goes for me. Sometimes it'll crash when I try to load, other times, nothing.

Explanation for the crashing already given above:

That would be my fault.
I supplied the author of this mission with a beta version of NVScript v1.0.8, but unfortunately there's a bug in there which I have been unable to track down which occasionally crashes Thief2.exe / DromEd when the level is unloaded.
The good news for you is that the problem seems to randomly happen for a while, then just as suddenly stop happening. (This is bad news for me trying to fix it because whenever I try, for example, deleting half the source code and recompiling, I never know if the problem is fixed the problem or if it's just randomly gone away again.)
Anyway, now you know why that script module is not available to the public yet! :D
If I manage to find the problem, I'll send the fixed version to the author, and maybe he or she can make a modified version...

Ok, I restarted it for the 4th time and after 3-4 crashs the saves seem to work now! :D
Can anyone tell me how many
of those sun objects are needed? One for every holder? I have 10 of them.
BTW, that
mosaic-puzzle made me sweat, I never managed to solve the Kubrick's Cube puzzle.
Yes, you need one for every holder. There's 11 or 12 of them, I think.
I hate it when my typos get immortalised by people quoting them. ;)

12 of them. I seem to recall having one too many; I think that might have been only on my Normal skill playthrough though?
Yandros on 23/9/2006 at 23:30
Yes, I'm playing on Normal now and had one extra. The reflecting lightbeams effect is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen in a FM, and I can't wait to have a look in Dromed to see how it was pulled off. The beams even get blocked by the player, that's just crazy coolness!

Very cool level technically, if not a little frustrating. I'm having fun with it though, although I hate the warping around stuff. In any case...
Can anyone nudge me a bit on the room with the huge chasm of spikes? I thought I
translated the symbols ok to read: Walk above the spikes, follow the glyphs above, assuming there's an invisible path somewhere.
but I don't see any recognizable help when I look there. I must be missing something.
Nameless_Voice on 24/9/2006 at 00:10
I actually figured that one out without reading the hint. Look upwards above the pit.
Renault on 24/9/2006 at 00:21
That's what I was saying, I did do that, but I guess I'm just not seeing what I'm supposed to see.
Also, Red, you only have the compass if you buy it at the beginning. Who would ever think you'd have to buy a compass? Never occurred to me.
And...anyone else had trouble converting the OGG files with Garrettloader? I have version 1.41, which should be ok, but it couldn't do it. Had to use Darkloader to get it to work.
Sluggs on 24/9/2006 at 00:22
I've seen that trick in another FM, although i forget which it was. :o
