Maybe you could block the flame spouts with something?

Then why didn't you translate the instructions on the wall?
If you would have read my posts carefully, you'd see that I did. My mistake was looking at the figures
poses instead of something as simple as their
color.

Don't bother getting the sun behind the flame jets... that's apparently what triggers the slowdown, and you don't actually need to get every one. There are a couple just laying around in unprotected but hard-to-spot areas.

I think you do need it if you're playing on Expert, though.
At least, I never found a spare one when I played it on that skill.

I actually figured that one out without reading the hint.
Look upwards above the pit.I was able to make a running jump
after the first leg of the path.
Anyway the remedy for me to not experience any crashes is to not die. It wasn't random, it occured every time on a reload. I seem to have a hang for the mission now, so it's ok. :)

I'm having trouble lining up the sun masks, playing on Normal. I have 13 masks. The beam of light is shining off of the big stationery mask towards another pedestal. I put a mask on there and it shoots over to the one in the SE corner. However when I put a mask on that pedestal it shoots into the wall. There is only a small amount of adjustment allowed so that doesn't make any difference. Is there something that I'm missing here? I can only seem to get the masks to go on the pedestals in one position. Hints? Outright spoilers? Anything appreciated. So far, this has been a terrific FM though some of the puzzles were a bit on the hard side for me.
