Actually I thought most of the lines except two were my standard Garrett. However the two lines....
At the end when all the hammers meet their demise I did make a conscious decision to deliver the lines with a bit of a gasp for breath. It was a bit of a shock and even Garrett must get rattled from time to time. Not often mind you but time to time. Like the cut scene before Soulforge in the OM's when Viktoria does her thing.
So that was my motivation as the actor.
And don't worry. Play enough FM's and you'll probably get used to me.;) Since I don't really play the OM's very often anymore it sometimes seems strange to hear Stephen Russell's voice instead of my own. Oh yeah, I remember that guy! He was good, wasn't he?
So anyway...that's a bit a glimpse into what's left of my once fertile grey matter. And I certainly took no offence to your original post.

I should have finished this one long ago, but it really creeps me out! Have to wait for my husband to get home to jump back in there ...
A little less cowardly than turning on all the lights ...

Thanks for your insite on this, SlyFoxx. It does help. And, now that you mention it, there IS a file in T1 or 2. . .can't remember which where he says something like 'this is not good!' and he does sound a trifle out of breath and a bit rattled. Not sure if the file was actually used or not in the game, but its definitely there. And yeah, it does make sense that some things would rattle him. I mean, no matter who he is, he would not be able to 'see it all' and expect everything. Nor would he be human if he didn't get shaken up a little from time to time. (Despite his claims that he equates feelings with getting caught. :) I dont' think *anyone* can not have them, even if they want to pretend they do). So, yeah, I guess you're right there. It would be something of a gasping shock.

Oh yeah, I remember that guy! He was good, wasn't he?Heh You know that could be it. I'm just coming from playing the OMs - and one or two FMs - so anything but Stephen Russell would probably sound weird to my ears, no matter how good. It could be his twin brother and the lines would probably be delivered different enough to throw the player. I guess it can be equated to hearing - and getting to know one version of a song, then hearing it performed by someone else. It throws you and for awhile, until you get used to it.
Now that I think about it that happened to me with the Phantom of the Opera too. London cast vs Canadian cast. lol Now to me the Canadian cast sounds normal and the London one is odd. So, yeah, I'll keep playing and I'll get used to you. Like I said, you did a great job and the similarities were definitely there. Just not quite the same. Sort of the feeling one must get stepping into another dimension where things are the same, but not quite. lol
Hmm. Now after discussing this. . .*I* want to try my hand at voice acting! :weird: No idea if I'd be good at it, though. Never tried. Don't worry, Garrett's safe from me. :) As long as he doesn't suddenly get a gender swap.

I am having problems finding that key at the start of the mission also, can someone give me a clue. P.S hello everyone.:thumb:

The key to THAT door is inside the room - you don't get in through that door, only out. You need to look for another way in, look in the northeast corner of Sector 12.

Thanks for the heads up Yandros, if you mean...
the glyph in the NW corner I have found it and frobed it. All thet happens is it turns blue. Is it meant to do anything else?
I thought it was some sort of bug with my computer or scripts but in an earlier posting there is a list of scripts and the ones I have all check out fine.

Great Mission. Excellent use of background music.
SlyFoxx, as always you did an awesome job voicing Garrett. Anyone that has a problem with it should play missions where other people try to voice Garrett and don't even come close. I agree that everyone has a right to their opinion, but your Garrett imitation is as good as it gets without hiring Russell himself. You're so close to Garrett's voice that it seamlessly becomes part of the mission. Keep up the good work.

Lost Soul - you're having the same problem as a couple of other folks in (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109848) this thread. Here's the solution:

Someone PMd me with the same problem yesterday. It sounds like the
gen.osm which is in the ZIP file (patched version) isn't overwriting the one you have (which is unpatched). Try opening the ZIP file, and extracting
gen.osm somewhere. Then, go to the Thief folder where you play FMs through Darkloader, rename the version of
gen.osm that's there (or copy it somewhere else as a backup), and then copy in the version from the ZIP. It should work then no problem, but you'll have to restart the mission, loading a save game won't work.

Yandros - Thanks, :thumb: that did the business. Now I am on my way and loving it. I might have to send you my laundry bill though. I have pooped myself a few times already. You are truly a most excellent (FM) “builder”. Thanks again for sorting my problem out.:D
