But I have a questions too: If the mission's setting is after Thief III, why there are still glyphs? Was there an explanation given or is it just "cool" to use them?:cheeky:
No explanation, just my own ignorance and lack of thoroughness (plus I also thought they were cool). :cheeky:
I'm working occasionally with our resident expert of canon, jtr7, to work the kinks out of the story so if I ever revisit it I can rework things and make it more in line with the stories of T1 and T3. For instance, it was only after I released the mission that I realized that it's generally agreed (albeit not canon probably) that The Eye is responsible for all the raising of undead in the Old Quarter and the cataclysm in general. When I made WLB I I didn't know that, and that's why I came up with a story to explain it. :o
Loot hint:
By the way, if some of that loot is near the start (above where you jump down the waterfall), there is in fact a way back up there - but it's only available after you've dispatched the Necronymus.

Sigh, after two years, 2 Thief2 re-installs, 3 different zip files, and numerous attempts, I still cannot play this FM for lack of the $*!@&$ key supposedly in the small barrel near the very beginning.
I have tried diferent zip files, tried the tip "copy gen.osm" from the FM zip. I even went into it in Dromed looking at one point but I couldn't figure out where the (censored) key was in there either, or how to set the damn door to unlocked by default.
I did note someone else in this thread said something about some osm called script.osm, which is NOT in my folder, or any zip files. Can anyone who can get this FM to work PLEASE give me a full list of scripts and osms and whatever else (with dates/times), ANYTHING that can help me figure out how I can finally play this mission?
I'd really like to play this FM that is considered a classic, but for me has been a frustratingly tantalizing "wish it were one of my classics", ever since it came out. It has been the proverbial carrot dangling before the nose in my missions folder for two years now...

I'll help figure out what you need to do to play it, kamyk. If all else fails, I'll send you a version of the mission with that door unlocked. Let me dig into the old folder some tonight and I'll PM or email you from here. Sorry for your frustrations - I've learned a lot about avoiding this kind of thing since this mission was released... hard to believe it's been 2 years now!

I'd greatly appreciate it :) Tyvm
Btw, looking over that list of scripts from the earlier post, I notice a) I don't have any such file as:<br>11/23/2003 03:40a 180,224 script.osm
and b) my archer.osm reads:
03/10/2000 09:21a
as opposed to:
03/27/2000 01:01p 118,272 archer.osm
if that helps any.

Just sent you an email. If it's the key I think it is, no scripts are involved. We'll get it figured out. :thumb:

Good lord what is that green zombie on speed!
That scared me nearly as much as DrK's super zombies. Can't figure out how to kill it. I'm sure I will as soon as I post this of course...
Better played late than never. Heh, this mission certainly has atmosphere.

Best way to avoid or kill Brother Reginald is not to frob the glyph on his door, but wait till later. :ebil:
