If I want to make my water, say, a different color, I have found out this so far - put it in the RES file under fam/waterHW. However, do I need to do like with skies and give it a name that already exists? And when I'm done making the mission, do I just reinstall the fam in RES so that I have my originals back?? I thought at first that I could just save these in my custom fam files under the same name (ie: waterhw) but that did not work.

Give it the old name = overwrite
New Name = new texture
Which texture is used is defined in the flow brush settings. So you can map with a new texture and keep the default one as uhm default.

So, I should be able to put a different named texture in the RES fam and it will work? Because, that is not happening with the water. It works for my sky stuff, but it won't work for water at all. I called it magicin and magicout, but when I updated it to those names in the flow settings, it didn't change at all.

You should name it "magic" in the settings, the same way the originals are "grin" and "grout" but you use "gr" in the settings. Think of the "in" and "out" as suffixes, for the top and bottom of the water's surface.

Ok, I did have it just as "magic" and I'm still unsure why it wouldn't work, but I made new ones of a brighter, different color and it worked perfectly so chalk it up to being a fluke. Thanks for all the help.
