Disclaimer, in the interest of full disclosure: I know the creator quite well, but I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't think it had merit.
The Darkened Heart is a steampunk-ish, mystery webcomic based on photographs of artifacts and blog posts---and where the readers can comment as it goes, since the plot is sort-of an ARG (Alternate Reality Game).

Beyond the plot reminding me of Thief, the pictures and scanned documents also have quite a distinctive look :-)

I don't see many connections with thief. Sure, it's a nice read and a interesting idea, but it's just not the same to me.

That's not any kind of webcomic at all.

Really? I got a big Thief-vibe from it.
I guess my reasons for the connection are twofold; the project is based on props the creator made and then photographed, and the props and letters/drawings are somewhat steampunk and/or remind me of the Thief mission briefings; and the plot is a dark/supernatural mystery set in 1890s Philadelphia (which is a city that reminds me a lot of The City ;) ) but which extends through time to the modern day.
I imagine it's not everybody's thing, but since I never read it until yesterday, I thought I'd see if anyone else here felt similarly.

Stop bulling us. You're doing a commercial to a guy's blog. It's that easy. There is no thief connection. And the only thing slightly similar with thief 3 is the tools for cutting people.

Prolly riding the 1099 all the way to the bank!

Well, I'm sorry I came off that way. I thought it was cool and that the props/ideas might be of interest here---I started playing Amnesia: Dark Descent because of the post here---so I shared it.
And I did make sure to put my connection there first; if you don't like it, I wasn't trying to trick you!
Again, apologies if I offended.
