Does monolog say anything? I've had something similar once and a bad brush was completely messing up with the mission.
Yandros on 18/4/2016 at 01:41
Definitely check for unsnapped brushes.

Monolog did come up with this:
--------------- csgmerge ---------------
Epsilon is 1.e-004
File has 2133 cells.
Allocations: 2134
Min: 412.55515 398.09918 467.96732
Max: 579.69562 704. 532.02222
Input polys: 6256
Unique planes: 966
Unique render aspects: 414
Unique vertices: 7691
Allocations: 14424
Merges made: 3370
Merges with internal colinear points: 0
0 colinear points deleted
Allocations: 8650
Totally coplanar... ick.
WARNING: Didn't grab coplanar case!
Discarded degenerate polys: 111
Current allocations: 606
Max allocations: 14425
Releasing remaining allocs: 606
------------- csgmerge end -------------
I'll check for unsnapped brushes too. This may well be the issue!
Yandros on 18/4/2016 at 10:53
Yeah that's likely the cause of your coplanar. and the black thing.
Bronze Griffin on 18/4/2016 at 15:10
It was one of the steps. The more I moved it around or tweaked the worse things became. I have replaced the stairs with a ramp and the mission works fine now. :erg:

I see you have grid size as 11 but "USE" isn't highlighted.
Yandros on 19/4/2016 at 02:06
Like I said... you need to snap brushes (and turn USE on so you don't end up with a lot more unsnapped brushes).

From the looks of the last picture it seems that most of the steps were not snapped to grid. The lighter lines could indicate that there are two lines side by side rather than the darker lines where two steps' edges are touching each other at the grid. Its not always easy to tell from a 2D perspective but it looks like other brushes not related to the steps are also not snapped to grid.

R Soul said it best on the topic
Quote:
Just so you're sure, the highlight - snapping procedure is:
Highlight unsnapped.
Snap highlighted
Clear highlighting.
Highlight unsnapped again (if they have snapped then nothing should highlight)
Portalize/Optimize.
I would add that you should pick your smallest used size (that you have already been using) so that your fine details don't snap to a larger grid.
Yay you can have your steps back!
