I beat Deadly Shadows when it came out, but about a year ago I decided to play through it again. Everything was going great, got through the first few levels fine. Then a problem suddenly appeared where it was like Garrett was constantly on autorun, and every menu option with a slider would want to scroll to the top. I couldn't figure out how to make it go away, so I stopped playing. Approximately 2 months ago I had a hard drive failure and had to buy a new drive and reload everything. Today I reloaded the game, and the problem is still there. I am using a no-CD crack, but I do own the game, just don't like having to swap CDs all the time when I play different games. This is the only game that has this problem. My equipment:
Athlon 64 3200+
1 GB DDR RAM
nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
Logitech MX1000 laser mouse
The keyboard is a lighted Saitek one, but it functions as a regular USB keyboard, and I got it after I had the problem the first time, so I doubt it has anything to do with the problem.

Search here for the SAITEK. USB devices do cause problems, and Saitek is one that does.
Also search the Tech forum.
Constant Garrett movement is caused by Gamepads, Joysticks, USB keyboards and other such.

Heh heh. So it's the autorun problem from the OM's, but with a more sinister twist. Can't just hit the Caps Lock button this time.:p

I had the same problem a few months ago with the Saitek keyboard I got for Christmas with T: DS. I can't recall exactly how to repair it, but for some reason the keyboard has multiple entries in Device Manager, one (or two) of which have to be disabled. The game should work fine afterwards. Just search.
