Weird sunlight issue. - by Kurhhan

So, i'm using sunlight in my mission (imitating moon light). So far in two places i had weird issue that lightgem go dark without reason (no sunlight shadows, just open space). Long I was looking for culprit and found that one little wedge caused this mess. This is weird because second place where light gem go dark (first is near) is very away from this wedge. So I deleted this wedge and now it's seems light gem works good. Someone had a similar, strange problems with sunlight ? Some advice about using sl ?

Use blockable brushes around or in front of the troublesome terrain brushes. I had the same issue.

Blockable brush helped. Many thanks fibanocci.

The problem came back when I made "Complete Processing" to map. Now is many black spots on the map. I "blockable" nearly all brushes and nothing. "Sunlight" in Dromed is just one big bug.

Is this an issue with terrain brushes or objects?

I think, only with terrain brushes. I'm using Sunlight Mode : Quad Unshadowed, so obj don't make shadows.

So this is a DromEd only problem or does it happen in the game? I've never used 'Quad Unshadowed', so I don't know what's going on. There's a sunlight bug in ND 1.23. It's affecting the Runtime Object Shadows. But it occurs in the game, not on DromEd game mode.
May I take a look at this map? PM me, if you want to. And tell me the coordinates of the bad shadows.

Please, can you add any details?

It's Renderer--> runtime object shadow that's faulty in the game (but not in DromEd). The player is in bright light, but the gem stays dark. You can see the bug not that often. It doesn't happen in every sunlight mission (fortunately). An example is the sunlight mission in Pirates Ahoi.
The only solution in NewDark (at present): Disable runtime object shadow in cam_ext.cfg.

Did you mean
sun_runtime_obj_shadows ?
from cam_ext.cfg:
Code:
; enable sun light to be affected by objects that have runtime object shadowing, in the same way that they affect
; regular light sources
sun_runtime_obj_shadows
