I just came across this news today about Weird Worlds being (
http://www.astraware.com/weirdworlds/?ref=fblike) ported to the iPad . Although I don't actually own an iPad yet, I am hopefully getting one for work (and play) within the next couple of months and am interested to hear if anyone here has tried the WW port.
Some quick impressions of the video preview:
* The screen real estate appears to lend itself well to board games in general, and WW is no exception
* The guy playing it appears to have to press on selections more than once.
* The guy sucks at WW
There's a news item at (
http://www.digital-eel.com/) Digital Eel about it on the 5th of January.

I saw that too, but after hearing negative feedback on the Brainpipe port, and (like you) noting the apparent difficulty of using the interface (both the Infinite Space games had a frustrating tendency to use lots of teeny tiny little buttons), I was a little loathe to post about it.
The link from Astraware uses an itunes protocol, but fortunately I see that you can simply change it to http in the URL and get a regular web page, which tells me it's US$5, which is pretty much a steal, and may make the occasional interface blunder less of a concern.
Oh, and they may in fact have fixed those issues since that video was recorded:
