But how do you hug walls in Thief 2. I've tried every key I can think of, but Garret just won't flatten himself against a wall. It's not in the "controls" section either. I've completely forgotten, so any help would be appreciated.
Or is it all in my imagination from playing Thief 3?

It's not necessary anyway. Just keep your light/visibility gem black and the AI unalerted and you won't have a problem. Crouching and putting your weapons away will minimize your visibility fine.

Why not? There is no impassable AI unless you screw it up. No AI ever needs to be physically dealt with, unless you trap yourself or derail them off their paths.
