My point was that it doesn't look like we'll be playing it in 2009. They are betting their chips on Borderlands, and if it flops...good luck playing Colonial Marines at ALL.

That's not what I read. I think Borderlands is due to hit after ACM- that the so-called "talent changes" don't have any effect on the game, but it does on Borderlands since that's still nowhere near finished.

The "next game" in question is Borderlands, the Road Warrior-esque open-world action role-playing game that 2K Games will publish next year.
And "the true relevance of the story will be irrelevant until we release our next game" sounds an awful lot like they've all but halted A:CM's production until Borderlands hits.
