You've got to be kidding me........

"No, John. You are the [bugs]!" :o

No offense, but you could have posted in one of the other thread instead of making a new one, Poetic.

Hmm...the servants keep walking around looking for me with an invisible sword in their hand, and they cannot find me even if I bump into them !
:laff:
That's a bug alright, that's the blind servant act. That happened a lot to me when I used to play Dark Project. I think it's still possible in Thief: Gold, but not so much.
By the way, the invisible sword... I see what you mean, but they don't have an invisible sword. It's just that they use the same searching motions as guards do.:p

That happened to me a lot when I was playing TDP on easy. In TG on expert NPCs always spot me if I get into their way even in the darkest corner.

I don't understand the hostility in some of these smart aleck responses :(
I have played Thief before and I did mention that it was my best gaming experience ever.
There does indeed seem to be a bug with servants, and (as a slightly friendlier poster said) the reason the servants look like they have an invisible sword is because they use the same motion as the guards.
You guys will scare away newbies if you continue such unwarranted smart-aleck responses.

This is tame dude. The comments were mild, no offense. Most of us have seen much worse around here. If this bugs you, don't venture into comm chat.

You say you've played the game, but it's kind of strange that you did not notice that bug before hand. Perhaps you just forgot about it? When was the last time you played The Dark Project?
My guess is you were referring to other people, because I was not trying to be "smart-alecky"

I apologize, Poetic thief. To help you understand where the teasing is coming from, it appears you are trying to change a game into something it's not before you've played it through once first. I, myself, had sought ways to speed things up--namely, a walkthrough. My excuse was that it wasn't my game or my computer and I was fascinated by the story, so I wanted to get as much of the story as possible before my time in that universe was up. I didn't play the game properly and it was five years before I was able to purchase my own system and all the games.
As you read other threads you'll find that people are more willing to help you if they know you've experienced Thief in it's rawest form first. This is considered most honorable and the primary initiation rite into the taffer guild. :p
It may be hard to discern who is teasing good-naturedly, who is admonishing, and who is just being mean. Yeah, this is mild.

I haven't played the game for years, but I did like it a LOT. I wrote fan fiction for it, I had a lot of strange and beautiful dreams about it (those Hammerites are haunting in a psychological way) :) , and it's still my favorite game.
When I asked for editors/fan fixes/ unofficial patches, I wasn't trying to change the game into something it's not. I was trying to make sure that I got the best, most streamlined experience from it.
I've played enough games to know that user-made fixes often do away with headaches, annoying bugs etc, that the official patches don't address.

I was just wondering that you have forgotten about the invisible sword/bump bugs. Also you were wondering about inventory management and even stats. That did not sound like you are a thief player. I played thief when it was new and I was 8 years old back then, yet I cannot imagine how could I forget about those things. Your first post just sounded like you've never played thief, sorry.
