I just moved to KoreaTown in LA and went to a local place. They didn't speak english, so I ordered something that had "bean noodles" in the name, and waited patiently...

DELICIOUS! Talking to Korean friend confirmed it was (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jajangmyeon) jajangmyeon, a soybean, pork and veggiek sauce on top of noodles, with all the standard sides (kimchi, pickled radishes, vinegar peppers etc). Highly recommended!
So what cool stuff have you been eating or cooking up?

Recently had some monjayaki aka monja, a runny kind of okonomiyaki, on Tsukishima's Monja Street, which is famous for it.

Speaking of gross shit I was to a (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crayfish_party) cray fish party a few weeks ago. Ate 3 crayfish. Small ones. Not the whole things mind you, only the meat in the tail and the claws are eaten. It's a hell of a lot of work to get the meat out and it doesn't taste of much, but apparently it's some sort of tradition around here to eat these things towards the end of the summer. I don't know why we do this to ourselves. :p
