Sorry, Yakoob, but for someone like me, I cook at home, and try to make simple, nutritional, low-calorie, low cost, mostly organic meals without heavy sauces and garnishes and extra fat and bullshit. It's like steak: a rib-eye, salt, pepper, maybe a little thyme, and fire is all one needs. Why would one pour a rich sauce over a steak? All you taste at that point is the sauce with some meat in the background.
Oh I love cooking and this thread wasnt meant for eating out! Only reason it has is cuase I moved and (2 weeks later) my kitchenette STILL isnt fixed, so I cant cook properly. Grrr! Seriously, one of the best pork I've had was one I made myself with just the right amount of oil, salt, pepper and cilantro. MMmmm!
And totally agree with not overdoing condiments, that's why I miss Polish food - breads, sausages and cheese so fresh and good you actually DONT want to put any ketchup/mustard as not to detract. Seriously, I can eat polish bread with just butter or slice of cheese and be in heaven.
So for a change of pace, some home cooking - Aloo methi-filled crepe for some Polish-Indian fusion power breakfast. Omnomnom.
