Why don't we have one of these for the Fan Mission forum?
...umm...Thanks Digi. I'll take it from here.
Over at The Editors Guild we've had a thread running forever where mission designers post about their current projects. Digi started it while working on the final stages of Mission X. You know...bits and bobs about the design process....snippets really...short and sweet nuggets 'o thiefy design goodness. Anyhoo, I thought a thread in the same vein might be nice here.
What are you having fun with at the moment...the experience, not the minutiae...and perhaps why?

I just recently finished The Brotherhood of The Falcon campaign and that was fantastic, it's a bit older (I think 11 years) but it aged really well and was just a lot of fun overall.
My current playthrough is Endless Rain though which is a very big mission but so fun to get lost in the rainy streets. In a way I guess i'm lucky because I only started playing Thief fms a couple of years ago.. I played the original games but never got around to the FM scene and now that I have I currently have 900 FMs waiting to be played :)
I've already played through 100 fan missions but I can't get enough of them, it seems like the whole Thief dynamic is just a style/story I can always keep coming back to without getting sick of it.

I think this is a great idea, Sly, don't know why we never did it before. Thanks for starting it. I'm not playing anything at the moment, just working with Yandros on our mission now. But once I get back to playing, I'll be sure to post here.

Lucky you, Goldwell. But then I don't have as much playing time as I used to so I doubt I'd get through 900 odd now. I love playing Thief fms because I'm so comfortable with the controls and don't have to stop and think about which key to use. It makes for a fluid experience.
I'm currently testing so have had to pause Heartcliff Islands. I was enjoying that enormously because I love exploring although I did find the black shadows a bit trying on my eyes. It's pretty tough and I've got lost many times. I'm quite sure that 5 out of 7 of the hours that I've played so far were spent trying to go in and out of the cells area. But once I got my head round that, I was less frustrated. I've still got a long way to go I think, judging by some of the posts and I'm really looking forward to getting back to it. I might well start again with the low-lag version though.

I´m replaying "sturmdrang peak" for T2 by Nick Dablin in "expert" mode this time, and i´m loving it as i loved when i first played it.

This is an awesome idea - the similar thread over in Gen Gaming is one of the best threads on TTLG.
I've been playing through Invitation To Castle Morgoth again, one of my favorite TG missions. I wish Vlad was still around making FMs, his stuff is good. One of these days I'll bust out one of my own old school TG missions. Hopefully.

Just finished playing all 192 T1/TG missions back to back.....and now I'm at a lose as to what to play next :(

Great idea Sly! I love these kinds of threads. I started on Heartcliff Island the other day, but haven't gotten very far. As Tannar said, we're spending most of our time working on our noir mission for the summer contest (which will be quite late).
SlyFoxx on 28/8/2015 at 21:51
Started Heartcliff the other day myself. I played about a half an hour...just enough to get out of the cell and explore a bit. Seems like it's going to be tough but in a good way. I'll be taking my time with it.
