apdenton, just a word of advice
see how under most peoples' usernames is the term "member"?
that's fairly standard
every once in a while though somebody will get a unique member status, for example evaunit02 has "PC gamering smarty man i <3 gamepads and consoles" or something like that because of his elitist rants
zylonbane gets "zylonbane" because, well, he's zylonbane
the man has a reputation to uphold, after all
it's hopeless to try and reason with him, so don't bother
don't even engage with him, he's like a dinosaur, if you don't move he'll go away
also, everything he says making fun of peoples' usernames is hilarious considering he often hangs out in the thief subforums; besides, lots of us have video-game related usernames, mine is an old duke nukem 3D midi file ffs
that said, i don't take seriously anyone with "thief" or "garret" or "taffer" in their usernames

The tone of the article made it sound like he was really in a bubble making stuff up as he went along to do what had to be done.
Given that there's literally space combat in Ultima 1 where you battle TIE fighters and that you can operate a TARDIS, that would be pretty obvious.

Okay advice taken. I just take some things a bit too seriously sometimes, need to lighten up.

Lol, I was thinking more about the mechanics & coding, but of course this too. :lauff:

It's one of the rules of internet; don't take anything particularly seriously, especially from known provocateurs. And you can't blame others too much for completing a zing that you set up for yourself. Another one is there's no need to quote the whole post you're responding to.

Lol, .
Yeah im particularly new to the internet and cultures, quite a lot to learn.
@ dethtoll- duke 3d on PC or PS1, which do you prefer?
june gloom on 11/2/2012 at 00:49
PC like God intended.
EvaUnit02 on 11/2/2012 at 01:09
I was never aware that the CD-based console ports of Duke 3D had a new redbook audio soundtrack. Oh well, there's nothing stopping you from using a ripped version of that soundtrack with the PC version these days, since source port Eduke32 supports custom music.

Hm.
It's 1999. Do I want to play Duke Nukem 3D on PC, where I had access to a myriad of user maps (of varying quality, true) and could change the midi music to whatever I desired (as long as it was MIDI?) With the intuitive controls and the ability to save anywhere?
Or do I want to play a console version, with stripped-down levels, cludgy gamepad controls, no save games, and a generally medium-quality exclusive addon episode that's inferior in every way to the one added in Atomic Edition? OH WAIT BUT THE MUSIC IS SO GREATTTTT > jerk myself into a stomachache
Yeah, no. Go away, kid.

i never noticed a problematic difference in the levels.
you can save anywhere on ps1 version.
cant speak for the atomic adition.
controls are fine, inferior yes, but still absolutely fine for console.
user maps? im talking about vanilla here
yes the music is worth the trade, old coot.
also as much as i hate to use this, it is the only other thing better about the ps version other than music- graphics. urgh that was dirty.
