It's difficult for me to pick just one thing, but definitely the movement of Garrett is probably the worst thing that I had to put up with. I never really felt in control of my avatar in the final installment whereas the previous games felt natural to me and far more immersive. This has been the main reason why I have never gotten around to replaying TDS after completing it the first time; and is why I have no intention of reinstalling this game or playing any FM's made by the fan community.
I also hated the fact that Garrett seemed to be somewhat of a celebrity in this game - well known by all factions at a glance - and not the mysterious, shadowy figure that he was portrayed as in the previous installments.

Irrational Made System Shock 2. They Are Making Bioshock. Irrational Are One Of The Best Devs About. + They Have Eric Brosius on sound.

And also I agree that Ion Storm make shoddy engines. Even DX1 had shoddy engine performance, especially in large firefights.
TDS is jerky even on good systems.

If Thief 3 was exactly the same as Thief only in different packaging, only then would i enjoy it.
Actually id enjoy the old packaging better because anything different would make me so angry!
