I like how it inspired people to begin working on "The Dark Mod".

I also liked the dagger - it makes sense for a thief.
I was really impressed and amused by many of the spontaneous interactions of the different types of characters, i.e., "Nice day we're having!" "Taff off".
It was also really neat that you could just find these little side-missions by accident in the City, like the fake Garrett and the golden dagger. Those sorts of things made the world seem more alive.
(I never even thought of lockpicking with the HUD off!)

The dagger.
The "climbing gloves". But not the artificial restriction to the use of the gloves.
The graphics were "better" but not enough to be very impressive.
Some of the architecture detail was better, the mating of textures tended to break that.

I thought the architecture and artwork were very good. Visually, I thouroughly enjoyed the game.
I liked the dagger. I liked the climbing gloves though they were not as versitile as rope/vine arrows. The idea was a good one, but I wish the gloves had been more usable.
I enjoyed the variety of settings and the sub-plots. I liked the cornerstone/rust mite hunt. Being able to align yourself with the pagans and/or Hammers was interesting. It provided more variety in gameplay.

I liked the way everything felt so real. I enjoyed the story. I liked playing Garrett, really, that's the main reason.

The new look was great and of course the dagger was a good move.
I like the whole Factions system because it really gave you a chance to explore more territory and actually have allies for once instead of just the Keepers.
the lockpicking mini-game was awesome and the eye feature too,
And that new stealth kill "raise arm" thing was very handy.
The animated cutscenes were very nice looking and fluid(like the faction ones).
Finally the missions were great too like the hammerite and pagan missions and of course the cradle:D

The ladders worked!

I also liked everything that was mentioned here, including the dagger. The sword didn't make much sense to me. I have often wondered how Garret could get that long sword under his cloak and still be able to sit down :). I imagined him sitting in a chair drinking ale, and a harlot coming up to him, saying, "Is that a sword under your cloak, or are you happy to see me?". LOL (paraphrasing Mae West).
One thing that was interesting that wasn't mentioned was being able to flatten against a wall. That saved me a few times.

The only thing that I liked about TDS was one map, where a torch was flickering and you could see through a roof of beams, the light and the shadows flickering with it. Don't remember exactly where this was, but this was the only moment in the entire game, where I thought "Wow! That's how the new engine really looks like!" Sadly this was only a small spot in the whole game where this happened, but we are in a positive thread, so I wont say no more. :p
