I can honestly say I loved absolutely everything about Deadly Shadows. The third person perspective was awesome, and an optional third-person perspective really should be included in any first-person game. Don't like it? Don't use it. But for those of us that do, it was a great touch.
The technical issues were a minor snag, but really, this game didn't seem all that rushed at the end of the day. And believe me, I've seen the game's hairiest flaws. The only annoying part for me is the bad emulation on the XBox 360 backwards-compatible version of Deadly Shadows. You can see light sources through walls. Bleh.

Make no mistake, droogies. I am merely a Dark Project fanatic. Surely I am no threat to the likes of thee... The trials that truly shape a man are forever cast in iron, and much like the Cloister itself awaits new participants. I gave Deadly one solid chance for the love of the series, and guess what. I didn't puke. There, I said it. I certainly *was* enchanted by the initial graphics/music combo. That alone will always stick with me as a very fond and warm memory. I also posted that as my first thoughts the day it came out at the Ion boards. The music was brilliant. You know, Eric kind of finally fulfilled something here, making full "songs" and all. It is quite comparable to Blood & Honour (mm7), and Ultima IX in spots. See? All roses. :ebil:

Now that we have the movement and lockpick system on center stage, the guard patrols and just all the old classic stuff doesn't matter anymore.
Hey, I 'm just trying to be positive here...

Well, I guess it had to happen eventually. I avoided "that other thread" for a long while just to be able to keep up the positivity.

Well now. If anybody wants to add further comments, let's see if they can do it without ever saying even one mildy negative thing. Try to post without mentioning anything detractive, wistful, wishful, nor make excuses for flaws. Don't even use a negative label. How many posts can we get in here that are purely positive (and non-reactionary to a previous post)? This could be unprecedented. You've all done surprisingly well, until this page. Still very positive overall.
Tell us the delicious details of how and why you love TDS. Leave out the disappointment, the wish list, the flaws, etc.:)

I couldn't do it, and I think I like TDS more than most. ;)

Let's all help jtr here :)
I liked the AI - their methods of searching felt more real, unlike the other Thiefs were they tended to hone in on your exact position even they wasn't in the same room as you before you made the noise. AI in TDS tend to search the area more than the vicinity of Garrett. They also made interesting conversations and mumbles. I also liked when they gave up, dropped their weapon and ran away hysterically.

Oh come on, you know damn well that, however I word it, my short list of likes carries an unspoken and unavoidable proxy list of dislikes.
* The Cradle is a tour de force of evil goodness.
* Mantling was sound as a pound.
* Thief 3 is frequently a fine looking and sounding(s - nooooo!!! except those bits) game
I tried, it's impossible, I think you're cruel. :(

You have nooo idea....:sly:

Perhaps finding the positive or negative depends on your mindset.... or outlook on life in general.... or karma ... or metaphysical consciousness .... or if you had to take out a loan to fill up your gas tank... and the bank wouldn't give you the loan LOL!
All kidding aside, I think that with a little effort, most of us if not all of us could find something good about it without the negative. Just one thing.
And remember that we don't ALL have the same likes and dislikes. Wouldn't it be a dull world if we did? If a loading zone floats your boat, you can say so.
:)
