When does Garrett ride a horse?
I can't remember the name of the mission now but I distinctly remember the scripted ending to a mission where you get on a horse and off you ride into the sunset - more or less. I really enjoyed that bit.
I'm not sure whether Garrett has a friendly neighbour to look after any pet should it not be feasible to take said pet with him when he goes off for weeks at a time (speaking as an occasional dog/cat/chicken sitter).

That's actually rather cool (Although, I don't see when a city-boy like Garrett would have learned to ride a horse! lol).
There have been missions (more than one? I can only recall one, but it seems as though I saw at least one other somewhere too. . .) where you get to ride a train - and the train is 'actually' moving while you are moving around playing. (Yes, ok, it was probably the scenery that was moving, but shhh) I wouldn't think doing a horse would be *TOO* much different.
But yeah. . .PLEASE no pet spiders. That's just. . .ugh! It's bad enough to run into spiders on missions and have to deal with them. I certainly would not want one hanging around!! Ugh. (Even the mechanical ones give me the creepy-crawlies!) How about a trained rat instead? lol

a rat/mouse would make a great pet for garrett,it could access places/small hole
maybe combined a scouting orb you can view with a robot mouse you can control, sneak peek at a combo/grab a key/etc

A mouse can sit in Garrets pocket and can certainly handle a sleeping guards key. They aren't too noisy and cost nothing to keep. I'd love to see a pet mouse.

This sounds both cute and interesting for the gameplay, but I'll admit it, I find it funny for Garrett to have a pet rat in his pocket when you think back at how he treated beastfrogs :cheeky:
Poor frogs

the movie beast master is a good example of uses that can be done
thank you all for the positive comments

A little mouse can open rather big locks entereing them through a keyhole. Special type of picklock.
A rat can enter closed room through a rathole and to steal something there. And maybe it will prefer to stay within.
Horse can be used as a shortcut in a huge locations, the only problem may be to fit it into the pocket.
Garrett is always short of gas arrow, so even pet burrick may be useful.
Cat's independent nature is similar to Garrett's one, so they will never be able to live together.

I like the idea of Garrett using new tools disguised as animals. I.E., a small mechanical spider (Mechanist technology) used for spying or something.
Although really the mech tech in the games is not this advanced. They could make big clunky spider turrets, but not really small things.

The closest implementation of this in a mission that I've seen is Broken Triad where Garrett uses a mechanical maintenance bot to surpass museum secutirty. Not a pet, but still... I like that it acts on its own rather that me having to control it.
