:bored:
Well it certainly wasn't me who brought gratuitous passive-aggression into this thread. Though judging from the sudden appearance of Commchat posters here I'm hardly surprised it has reared its ugly head.

"Pachyderm: Any of various large, thick-skinned, hoofed mammals such as the elephant, rhinoceros, or hippopotamus. pachydermal, pachydermic, pachydermous."
So, you're saying that if one stays in CC long enough one receives an elephant or hippo which somehow causes the delay in the recognition of acerbically witty comments?
ThiefGen will never be the same. :(

I'm stumped as to what he could have actually meant... paridigm? personage? ... gah, my brain will explode. I stop now.

"pachyderm" = "thick skin" (literally anyway)
"mordancy" = NOUN: Irony or bitterness, as of tone.
He's saying all those years in in CC has given GBM thick skin (metaphorically speaking), so that the "irony or bitterness, as of tone" takes a while to dig in, hence GBM can seriously wonder whether "gratuitous aggression" really exists.
Not exactly the most poetic way to put it, though. Sounds more like the solution to a complicated math problem ... I can almost picture him crafting each word with a quill, paper, dictionary, and the midnight oil burning.

I rather like the elephant idea personally. But thank you for taking the time to explain.
He was so clever as to be nearly incomprehensible (which is very clever indeed). ;)

ALmost clever enough for CommChat!
