Hello, Redleaf. I've not seen you around for a while. As for the Blues, we all sing them now and then. I wish you the best with your art. :thumb: :thumb:

I've been invited to my old uni department for an interview tomorrow. It wouldn't be a full-time job nor a permanent contract, but ideally it'll mean one day a week of teaching academic writing, which I'd really enjoy - not least because it'd get me away from my current main job at least for a day, and it might put me in a good position for something more substantial down the road.

I'm another code monkey. Ostensibly in the web development area but I tend to get given pretty much everything else at the company I work. Which is kinda cool because it I'm always playing with new stuff and the constant challenge is stimulating. Lately, I've been working on Android and iOS apps and it's looking like I might be doing that for a bit as the demand for that kind of work is on the rise. This is a little amusing to some of my co-workers since I don't actually have a mobile phone myself.

I got the key to the executive washroom last week! (there isn't one, I got a modest pay bump and a title change though) :D

Quick update on my earlier post in this thread: after I had my interview on Wednesday I got a mail yesterday offering me the teaching position - two courses next term. Yay! What's less yay, mind you, is that I can expect to have 70-80 students with a mediocre grasp of the English language and a decidedly worse grasp of presenting a stringent argument. The correcting and grading will be... epic. Or something.

I've been teaching for 15 years and I fucking hate it, whatever creative spark I ever had has been slowly leeched out of me, indifferent student to the next.
