You played on normal difficulty. If you play hard or expert you will hear the whole line of dialog. :o)

Sounds to me like Garrett's line got cut off before even the first sentence was done. But Erik1 would have to clarify.

If you play on normal mode, thats what it does unfortunately. The reason is because by that time usually all objectives are met except stealing rameriz belt pouch. Taking it triggers the dialog but also ends the level unless you are playing hard or expert as you need to escape the place on those levels so the dialog finishes of course. :o)
