Steampunk elements are integral part of the game and they're just ok;)

I do not want a console port.
I do not want it to be a big success.
The Dark Project was made out of love. Deadly Shadows was made out of greed. But the blame should not fall on all the developers. Most of them only did their job, and quite well at that.

Sings we a dances of mans

I wouldn't want:
* Climbing gloves.
* That fuzzy-view, buzzing-noise effect with the zoomy eye.
* Flashbombs that look like Christmas Puddings.
* Body awareness - overrated in my opinion.
* A big fussy HUD with gears and and a blue background. In T3, when you had nothing selected, it actually kept the blue background and said 'Nothing' underneath :nono:
* Too much info. If we are to visit a Keeper compound, it should be an auxiliary one, like the little one in The Haunted Cathedral.

Even running was crappy in Thief 3: It had nothing with smoothness from the previous games. Did You notice it, too? It pissed me off all the time while playing it:mad:
Agreed. Garrett ran too slowly and too jerkily. The movement in TDS may have been more realistic than the previous games but it just annoyed me. Like it was such a labour for him to move at all.
Also, no 3rd person perspective and no crappy raising of the blackjack when you are in striking range. Taking away the ability to keep the blackjack raised and releasing it whenever you want was something that made TDS feel so awkward and slow for me.
I also do not want Thief to be in a futuristic setting, ever.

Garrett ran too jerkily and slowly? I.e. slower than in TMA? Now this thing is getting ridiciulous...:nono:

Horrible body awareness and movement

Automatic blacjack raising sucks, that's right. Moreover, I don't like the falling of blackjacked opponents in third game: rag-doll was ill-managed here, because bodies act weird: very often they're benting to the floor like there were no weight in them... Falling in T1 and T2 was far more natural.
It's all about the details which may be ridiculous for some people but even though the details are still important in games, right? Especially in Thief series, because it always was to be a realistic game;)

But I don't understand what's wrong with body awareness in first person? It's better than seeing nothing.

That's why I said
horrible body awareness ;). If it's done right and doesn't kill smooth movement controls then it's ok. Something like in Dark Messiah but with even more accurate controls would be nice.
But I would prefer the dev team putting effort on more important things than getting the body awareness right. They should start using traditional FPS style floating weapons and hands with precise movement controls. And if there's time then maybe bring in the body awareness.

Treating the neck as a damped spring could allow body awareness to be combined with smooth head movement. That's what car manufacturers have been doing for many decades.
