Not to mention the fact that "futuristic" somehow seems to have acquired the meaning "dark dystopia in outer space", which is really getting old. If they have to go "futuristic", they should at least try a different approach. I've seen all I ever care to see of extraterrestrial haunted mines.

You do realize it's an easter egg, right?

Yes, but somebody from the developers imagined it

I disliked the overall brown color of all (walls, ground, furniture, doors, simply all...). It looked horrible !!!
I wonder why nobody remind this ...

er... surely that's better than having everything in a violent shade of blue, a la TDS?

It's true, I generally found bolt on additions to be detrimental to Thief. Of course you can run through a list of things that T3 screwed up on and it'd be nice not to do them again, but T2 also caused offense. Invisibility potion and slow fall juice were to my mind a trip too far into Ridiculous Town and generally broke whatever disbelief was being otherwise being sustained.
On the other hand, being able to lean into doors to listen was cool (except it was broke).
So yeah, I think I'd be interested in stripped back less is more Thief 4 - but with maximum value being stretched out of them fewer features. I think you could reduce the number of tools even from Thief 1's loadout and Thief might be better for it. Snazzy physics and a more interactive environs would make up the difference with ease.

if it's not clear
I'm speaking about TDS !!!
So once more:
- yes, the shade of blue is terrible !!!
- but even without this shade of blue, the rest of environment without blue shade is all brown - why ??? it looks terrible too.
In my opinion: a stone is gray, a metall is gray-blue or rusty, interior of mansion could have some wall-covering (non brown !), and many other non brown issues, and only a wood is brown - so
why is all in TDS (terrible shitty-like) brown ???

About the modern/futuristic setting - I wouldn't be so opposed if they did it right, meaning having the "modern Thief world" be to our modern world what the Thief world was to a usual medieval setting, if you get what I mean. Basically, mix it up, give it a timeless quality by using anachronisms, stylisation etc.

The overall texture themes are muted and dull. Lighting is a different matter.
