It's a matter of getting used to a new way of playing. Splinter Cell gave me some good experience with 3rd person character movement. ;)

if you're fighting the camera more than the monsters, you're doing it wrong. silent hill 2 is one of my favourite games, so you can just go shove a pineapple up your urethra.
I like watermelons more.
But seriously, no reason to take it that personally. If you like it then by all means like it. I've readed about 43 million reviews that I don't agree with but hey, you don't have to give a shite.

It's bad enough when games give you some impossible situation where the only way you'll ever get past is with the foreknowledge of everything thats about to happen because it already happened once and you died and had to load. But seriously, in a game where you're not even allowed to save? What in god's name were they thinking?
Good God. And I was thinking about playing Project IGI. It sounds like it's a collection of everything I hate about FPSs (and video games in general) hopped up on PCP. :wot:

The first few levels are cool, and the game has a good stealth aspect to the action. But the lack of save function really does get annoying and the levels get massive. There's also the issue of infinite guards coming out of the guard huts (if you go in, clear it out, then come back out and set the alarms off - more guards will come out).

If there's one thing I hate, it's triggering a cut scene (even better if it can't be skipped of course), which is instantly followed by being shot in the face by a million guys. Then, when you've finally killed all the sonuvabitches, instead of getting to collect their guns and ammo, you get to watch another one of these motherfucking cut scenes, after which, you are naturally taken directly to the next level, with no health, weapons or ammo.
Why Mafia? Why do you insist on being so fucking annoying sometimes? I think Max Payne did this thing too in a couple of levels.
Oh, and KingPin and The Phonebooth of Death.
In the later levels, there's a phonebooth that's ringing. If you get within 5 meters of the damn thing, the protagonist answers the phone, and the phone booth explodes. I could understand if you had to walk inside the booth and use the phone, but no, jumping on top of it, walking past it, possibly even looking at it for too long instantly kills you. Great fucking thinking there, pal.
In fact, I hate cut scenes. They're the root of all evil. Fuck 'em. That's one of the reasons the Half Life games are awesome, no fucking cut scenes.

o_O
I undersand the annoyance of cutscenes that are instantly slapped at your face when you fail (like in thiefs), and hence you cannot quickload.
But not even cutscenes between levels? Especially in thief 1 & 2 they were something that I always loved to see and work towards to.

Oh, and KingPin and
The Phonebooth of Death.
You have to admit, that was a little hilarious but I guess as a gameplay mechanic it is pretty poor.

I was pretty sure you could save in-mission in both IGI games. Don't you use the "communicator" to upload mission data to save?
Bjossi on 10/9/2007 at 16:20
When I tried IGI a while ago I couldn't figure out how to save, and gave up on the game in the end.
