In after extreme irony.

Not that I suspect Mimosa is still checking this thread, but I too agree that you should try Thief 1 (I recommend "Thief: Gold" since it has extra content) and Thief 2. It's almost entirely about stealth, so twitch-gaming isn't necessary. You almost always have time to plan ahead and think before you act.
On a side note, i'm surprised no one mentioned "Deus Ex" (the first one, not Invisible War). It's half RPG/half shooter (Not much more shooter than Splinter Cell or Hitman though) and is at least about as interesting "atmosphere-wise" and "story-wise" as Thief (In a "near-future Blade Runner meets X-Files" sort of way). I do know the original Deus Ex is out on the PC and they also made a PlayStation 2 version called "Deus Ex: The Conspiracy" (which is really just Deus Ex for the PC, ported to the Playstation 2). The graphics are a slight bit improved in the PS2 version and the intro and ending movies are very cool (though you can just as easily find those with a YouTube search), but the maps are considerably smaller.

Thief, Thief 2 and Deus Ex are the obvious suggestions but since you are new to the Thief series with Deadly Shadows you're probably going to want to find something a little more recent. Hitman: Blood Money has sneaking and scripted elements which can be fun, that said it's not as consistent as the Thief games.

Only if he's shallow and values graphics over gameplay.
@Lightline: That's wrong. But then, wrong and funny is still funny.

Well, good to know SOMEONE would have if I hadn't. :cheeky:
And yeah, Deus Ex was such a great game if for nothing else than the intelligent storyline. I've had moments where I watch news stories and think to myself "We're one step closer to Deus Ex". :laff:
Hitman is not that bad of a game series, really. It does take some forethought to plan out a "clean" hit (which says ALOT more than most games) and the method you take to perform the hit isn't too linear (also says ALOT more than most games).
And, i'm almost ashamed to admit it -- but i've been curious about "Sneak King" myself. Has had me thinking of a Thief FM where Garrett delivers sandwiches to wealthy nobles and Hammer High Priests just to totally freak the hell out of them. :cheeky:
