This. One cannot deny the comfort of that, left aside that the games/movies always strove for visualizing all that as a great romantic idea of adventure and getting to know new things.
Otherwise I tend to go in the direction of Thief or the Witcher, but both are probably unhealthy in the long run, the latter having an undesirable uncertainty because of magical mayhem and the cosmological/parallel worlds stuff.
