$90? That's kind of a rip-off. £17-30 (CA$18-50) is the normal price range here.

I've got wireless headphones hooked up to my PC. I generally use them 95% of the time. The plus side is that you can go out into the kitchen and still listen to stuff from the PC.
The down side is that you get a bit more "hiss" in the background. I was seriously blown away when I plugged some nice corded headphones into an EEEPC. There is no background noise!

I, personally, have no use for wireless headsets. Besides, the downsides of them really would sway me away from them anyway. I DO, however, have a 10' coiled extension cord for my headphones, giving me 16' total.

Yeah somebody needs to build wireless headphones that use lossless digital audio instead of FM analog (like a cordless phone). I live in an apartment complex and I occasionally hear phones through these things. I wonder if they could make digital ones without having sound lag.
I doubt bluetooth can do lossless and the range isn't so hot.

you don't need lossless audio for a wireless headset.

PLEASE QUIT HANDING OUT SHIT ADVICE. YOU'RE ONLY DOING HARM.

EvaUnit02: This may be hard to understand, but not everyone has the same needs and expectations of audio equipment. What you consider a piece of crap might be someone else's 'perfectly adequate'.

PLEASE QUIT HANDING OUT SHIT ADVICE. YOU'RE ONLY DOING HARM.Wasn't really an advice. As far as I know, this thread is called "What gaming headsets are you using?". I replied. These phones are more than nice for my current use. Whatever the headset, they would pick up annoyingly much static from the shitty wiring and the sound card won't go beyond it limits either. Besides, I don't think the difference between headphones matter when you step into a mystical garden in bloody Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
How about you take a chill pill and try these on. They feel great even after hours of use. :D

I'd like some advice please on these gaming headset things. I'm thinking of buying some 5.1 headphones, but noticed that they often come with a USB connector. Presumably this then installs it's own "mini-soundcard" rather than using the soundcard currently on the PC (either PCI or on-board). So my question it how to carry on using my 2.0 desktop speakers with the PC soundcard I am currently using, and switching to surround-sound headphones at times.
I know I can change the soundcard currently used in "Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio", but will it remember that one soundcard is for 2.0 and the other for 5.1?
Thanks in advance!
