Well im playing with
AMD athlon 64 3500+
1 gb pc 3200 ram
and an x800 xt pe
at 1280 x 1024 with 2 samlples and full detail it runs great. I've never understood why people reckon that thief 3 is unstable as ive never had problems with it, seems to be more stable than Doom 3 Far cry and a lot better than FEAR for sure!

I suggest you read the link you quoted

Each post takes around 2 database queries and somewhere in the region of 100 operations to display it correctly (what colour the post should be, the conversion of the date/time it was posted/your profile info/working out whether you can see admin features etc).
If you post 5 times in a row then this becomes 10 queries and 500 operations. This thread then gets viewed 100 times and that becomes 1000 queries and 50,000 operations. And that is before we get into the amount of additional HTML, and therefore additional bandwidth, used to display the posts that could easily be one.
I expect you can see the cumulative effect. Now imagine if everyone did it
This is not rocket science. Additionally it forms part of our (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/regs.htm#spam) guidelines that everyone agrees to when they sign up.
At the moment it has taken around 4,900 queries to display your six-in-a-row posts (the thread has been viewed some 400 times). If they were one post then this would be a sixth of that, at around 820. If everyone did it then we'd soon fall into trouble with the database.

I noticed 6 people have a nVidia 7800... any troubles with T2 with that, bad sky, bad transparency, that sort of thing?
BTW I'm running: -
AMD Athlon 64 3700
Asrock Dual Sata II motherboard (actually I'm sure it called something slightly different, I'm just not sure what)
1GB RAM (just generic ram, I don't know what type)
nVidia 6800U (though maybe not for long)
To David: Does this mean we shouldn't post posts that we can avoid posting alltogether? :joke:

Another reason you shouldn't multiple-post is that it tends to give people the impression that your comments aren't worth reading. If someone makes ten posts where one would suffice, there's a good chance they aren't putting even a minimal amount of thought into what they type.
It also sort of looks like you're talking to yourself.

Yes, that's what I said. You are forbidden from posting.
I swear some people are being obtuse on purpose.
It is very simple: if your post is the last in a thread and you wish to add more to that thread then you edit your post. If your post is not the last in that thread, then you add a new reply.
There will be an exam on this, so study up.

David,
Sometimes I have problems using the Edit button.
My browser is Mozilla Firefox v 1.0.3
After clicking on Edit, I am able to edit the text, but after clicking on Save, nothing happens :(

David: Chill just a sec... it was a joke. I must have omitted the smiley by accident.
Bulgarian_Taffer: What about the most recent version of Firefox? I'm running it right now, and I don't seem to have any trouble.
