After tdp, what happened to the Sword? If I recall corectly, Garrett starts off with his 'regular' blade in T2.

Best guess? I'd say that he sold it on to his new fence and lived off of the proceeds for a bit. There have been some discussions on this in the past that you can most likely dig up with thesearch function.

Doubtful. If you had a blade that would act as a sneak-enhancer, wouldn't you use it whilst at work?
It's probably just ornamental.
Mind you, more than a few fan-mission makers have decided to comment on the final disposition of the sword.

The sword over the fireplace in Ambush! is simply a normal ornate (jewelled) sword,
Presumably, it just stopped working after the events of the last mission in Thief 1 and the death of Constantine.

either that or he didn't like using the sword of his mortal enemy so got rid of it. But considering how strapped for cash Garrett was at the start of T2, I'd say he had to sell it.

I always amused the idea that after the Trickster was forced back to his netherworld at the end of TDP, that the sword lost all it's power and returned to just being a standard, average, boring-old blade

Garrett being himself, he either sold it ( What does he do with all the money anyway? He seems to go though his wealth faster than the nobles can amass it)
or he lost it while -once again- having to relocate to another hide-out. Probably forgot to check the secret cache beneath the floorboards (yeah, where he kept the sword).
