There's also Tension/Turgor by those Russian guys who did Pathologic. I can't find much about it right now 'cept trailers, which are kinda variable. They show off some Alice/Kabinet das Doktor Calgari looking environments and some inexplicable nudity. Hard to tell if the gameplay is on topic though.
I'd put Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth into the above group though, even though it's a bit old.

Apparently, the English language version is being released sometime in 2009 as both a digital download and boxed copy.

Watched the videos for Tension. It makes me glad we have this emote: :weird:
So let me guess... this is an "art house" game... eh eh eh?
Also, I think nudity is one thing, but erotic dancing is quite on another level.
I have and have enjoyed the Cthulhu game, but never got past the refinery level.

That's only about half way from memory, perhaps less. There's quite a few quit worthy segments of that game, but there's some very memorable moments that make it worth persisting too (most of them later on)

I agree, CoC is well worth persevering with even if the gameplay descends into trail and error at times. Great little game, and it's a shame Headfirst went under after this.
Also, the Refinery is probably the least interesting part of the game, environment-wise.

There would be more Fantasy Action Games is the genre were given a better name. I'm sure some who like First Person Shooters or Role Playing Games or Real Time Strategy find it difficult to come out of the closet and express their deep and abiding love of Fantasy Action Games...

Exactly.

Excuse my ignorance. But what definition would define the genre 'fantasy action'?
Personally I would classify Hexen and Undying as FPS.
Alice as platform action.
And Call of Cthulu as an Action Adventure leaning towards FPS in some parts.
If Alice classifies as a 'fantasy action', I'd say Psychonauts would qualify as well.
Or has a horror setting have something to do with it?
Wouldn't the recent (

Psychonauts is great but more psychological platformer than anything else. It's pretty dark at times (despite the stylistic art direction).
Koki on 14/10/2008 at 10:36
And Okami is painting platformer?
